First of all, I would like to say welcome to our new web site. So many people are becoming more aware of the provenance of the food that they eat and it is because of this that Farmers Markets have sprung up across the country. I would like to think that West Bridgford market is more than that. We are a specialist, quality food market, and because of that, we have been able to grow and grow and as such the market is going from strength to strength. In May, we have the return of TUK TUK with her remarkable Thai Sauces, and another newcomer will be Red Hot Cuisine with homemade curry kits. Just Soaps have just launched their liquid soaps. You must try them, they are so creamy and leave your hands smelling wonderful ! We have a new coffee stall, where he grinds the coffee for you, the aroma is wonderful from the different varieties that he has on sale. Any day now, Rushcliffe Council is about to embark on some major ground works on the croquet lawn, and this is going to cause us a bit of a headache. All the stall holders are going to have change their usual trading places, so please be patient and search us out. One important thing I would like to add, is this “big issue” regarding carrier bags. I personally attend several farmers market in the region, and West Bridgford public have always been very aware and had their own bags, but now with all the talk, things have just improved dramatically. I used to give out hundreds of bags on a Saturday morning, now if I give out 20 it is a lot ! If you do not already have your own shopping bag, many of our traders do sell them. Finally, if you have never been to West Bridgford before, or even a Farmers Market, then please do come and visit us every second and fourth Saturday morning. The range of goods for sale is quite unique, the range of foods cooking for consumption there and then is superb, and it is a wonderful social occasion. Look forward to seeing you there, Ruth |
